Gwenan Gibbard will perform:
- ‘Harp and Story’ with Eric Maddern in Caernarfon Castle on Monday 21 April at 2.30pm,
- In the World Music Concert on Friday 25 April.
Gwenan Gibbard stands at the forefront of today’s thriving Welsh traditional music scene. She has represented Wales at several festivals, at home and abroad, performing her unique, contemporary arrangements of Welsh traditional music and songs, the playing firmly rooted in the heart of the tradition, yet showing a fresh and innovative approach. She also specialises in the unique art of ‘Cerdd Dant’, the ancient form of singing Welsh poetry to the accompaniment of the harp, and is one of the few people who performs this music self-accompanied on the harp. She recently released her third solo album - Cerdd Dannau – which explores a new perspective on the tradition of cerdd dant.
